At M5 junction 27, follow A361 North Devon Link Road in the direction of Barnstaple (35 miles).
The speed limit is 60mph and there are two speed cameras, one about halfway on a downhill stretch, the other 1 mile before Barnstaple at Landkey Junction.
At Barnstaple you can either continue to follow the A361 through Barnstaple in the direction of Braunton (you are following a ring road anti-clockwise around Barnstaple and will encounter 7 roundabouts!). Alternatively you can bypass Barnstaple centre by taking the A39 in the direction of Bideford at the end of the North Devon Link Road, just before Barnstaple. At the second roundabout on the A39 take the second exit signposted Ilfracombe A361, and then straight across the next roundabout, again signposted Ilfracombe A361. This takes you over the River Taw to join up with the A361 at the traffic lights, where you turn left for Braunton.
After Barnstaple, still on the A361, look out for Chivenor and Wrafton before driving down Braunton High Street.
At the traffic lights in Braunton take the left turn signposted to Saunton and Croyde. Follow the coast road round the point until you reach Croyde, where you follow the road to the right in front of the Post Office towards Georgeham.

Once in Georgeham turn left down Netherham Hill immediately after the Village Hall, then left along Putsborough Road towards Putsborough Beach.
Half a mile along Putsborough Road turn right at the Pickwell signpost and Pickwell Manor Farm is the first building you come to over the hill.
